What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accommodations Coordinator position at Pearson?
The Test Accommodations Coordinator provides support to the Accommodations Team. The Accommodations Team provides candidate support to those in need of test accommodations.
Test accommodations are modifications made to test content, the test delivery system, or testing conditions that allow candidates with disabilities or limited English-language ability to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in a testing situation. Access to specific testing accommodations is determined at the individual level, and these accommodations are delivered in accordance with both federal laws and policies established by Pearson and its clients.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience
- 1 years of experience in a business/customer service environment
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Team player
- Time management and multi-tasking skills
- Strong Customer Service skills: the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity related to this population
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Word and Excel
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate with and process basic candidate requests for accommodations.
- Review confidential medical records to determine eligibility for accommodations using critical thinking while maintaining attention to detail
- Responsible for promptly and accurately addressing customer inquiries using various systems and resources (computer systems, published materials, and websites)
- Track and document accommodation requests using established Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and ensure proper notation of customer problems or issues. Update customer information and ensure accurate entry of contact information.
- Log and track requests submitted to the test publishing team.
- Prepare and ship materials needed for specific candidate testing accommodations; includes tracking materials to and from the test centers.
- File management and archiving of department specific documentation
- Maintain quality service by following established policies and procedures
- Ensure proper security procedures are followed on all customer interactions
- Create test administration directions as needed
- Electronically deliver exam materials to testing centers
- Other duties as assigned
SCHEDULE AND WORK SETUP
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm ET
- Work from home with Pearson supplied hardware and support . (Employees are responsible for securing reliable internet.)
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
Minimum full-time salary starts at $18.00 hourly pay rate.
