What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cloud Engineer position at Pearson?
Cloud Engineer sought by NCS Pearson, Inc. in San Francisco, CA, 40 hrs/wk. Duties include: hands-on technical design and implementation to automate application build and deployment solutions; Automate, optimize, and drive Engineering efficiency of this effort, code, and process; Monitor the automated build and continuous integration process to ensure efficient build execution, and facilitate resolution of build/release failures; Design and implement standardized DevOps pipelines, establish standards and policies for managing source code and continuous integration/delivery; Create, maintain and share technical documentation used by engineers and other team members; Ensure security is integrated into all cloud architecture solutions; and Collaborate with development teams to help architect, configure, monitor, and support their services.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or foreign equivalent; 3 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, Software Developer, or Build/Release Engineer. 2 years’ experience in automated software build, deployment, and operational support; 2 years’ experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is required; 2 years’ experience programming and scripting experience in Python and bash; 2 years’ experience with IaC tools like CloudFormation, Ansible or equivalent; 2 years’ experience with build/continuous integration tools (Jenkins or similar) and version control repositories (Git. CVS); 1 year experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes) in deployment and operations; 1 year experience in Software Development Life Cycle, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery; 1 year experience Linux (RedHat/Cent OS) operating and systems; AND AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional.
