Position Summary
The Director of Marketing, Partner Schools develops and leads strategic marketing activities and execution for the portfolio of Connections Academy schools to meet our annual revenue and enrollment goals. Reporting into the Vice President, Partner Marketing, this person will lead initiatives that cross all schools, such as strategic planning, localized messaging, goal setting, performance analysis. The Director has accountability for overall state and school specific marketing strategies, in addition to supporting the relationship with customers from a marketing perspective. He or she will help develop new processes and operational efficiencies within the marketing department. The Director will also manage and help develop a team of marketing professionals.
This position will interface with a number of cross functional teams, both internal (i.e marketing, enrollment, sales, analytics) as well as external stakeholders such as school leaders. In this marketing generalist leadership role, the director needs to have familiarity with all marketing channels, KPIs, and be customer centric.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage state by state marketing strategies and execute initiatives to drive enrollments and differentiation for all partner schools
- Responsible for understanding and leveraging consumer insights and market research, market share, competition, category trends in order to shape our strategy and grow market share
- Coordinates and leads multiple cross school initiatives with brand, performance marketing, analytics, enrollment, customer success partners, and student success teams to ensure collaboration and alignment on plans
- Proactively identifies opportunities in the national and local markets for growth
- Manage a high performing team that is well respected by our school customers and internal stakeholders. Ensure this team meets or exceeds expectations in developing and driving marketing strategies, communicating and maintaining relationships with schools and help manage issues that arise for any partner school.
- Review and analyze data and metrics to influence and adjust marketing plans to achieve enrollment goals
- Support our sales/educational partnerships in proposals and development of new partner schools
- Lead innovation through nurturing of new ideas and test and learns (via messaging, targeted segmentation, etc.)
- Develops new marketing processes and operational excellence, driving for efficiencies while collaborating across teams
- Fully understand the online K-12 school market, including national and local competitors, develop strategy or messaging to help us win against competitors and grow our share
- Serve as voice of the customer to the broader marketing department
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years marketing experience required
- 7 years of people management and employee development experience; demonstrated success developing and promoting talent as well as hiring and onboarding great talent
- Bachelor’s degree required in related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Possess strong leadership abilities in the areas of managing and executing marketing programs and tactics
- Experience managing client/customer relationships
- Broad and deep marketing and business acumen, across digital and traditional channels
- High motivation and self-direction, taking personal ownership for results and professional development
- Possess the mindset and approach of an entrepreneur and challenges the status quo
- Excel in data driven based decision making
- Exceptional problem solving, creative thinking, leadership, relationship building abilities
