What are the responsibilities and job description for the P&T Instructional Partner and Coach position at Pearson?
The Product & Technology (P&T) Instructional Partner & Coach will work with PVS Academic Success Partners and others to establish an instructional leadership framework and execute against a strategy to elaborate and employ a variety of curriculum & technology tools that Connections Academies can leverage in their school plans to deliver academic outcomes.
This P&T Instructional Partner & Coach will provide dedicated support to schools in a specific regional area by creating and collaborating on a framework to illustrate the state specific educational landscape of standards, graduation requirements, accountability, charter requirements, and community aspirations. The P&T Instructional Partner & Coach will work with Connections Academy school partners to understand their specific curriculum and technology landscape and help raise awareness and advocacy for their state and school needs.
The P&T Instructional Partner & Coach will establish a collection of practices and curriculum and technology tools to be leveraged by schools in pursuit of optimal school & student performance. The P&T Instructional Partner & Coach will train, coach, evaluate, role model, and optimize the partnership between PVS and school customers in collaboration with the Academic Success Partners and others. Not a notetaker, not a task chaser, the P&T Instructional Partner & Coach is an instructional leader with awareness of “So What?” to evaluate impact and collaborate on problem solving.
Core tasks and responsibilities for the P&T Instructional Partner & Coach include:
- Establish an instructional framework and scorecard that can be used to maintain state & school specific profiles including:
- State Curriculum Standards (National and/or State Specific)
- State Testing Requirements
- State Graduation Requirements
- State Accountability Framework
- School Course Catalog (Current and Prior Year)
- School Improvement Plan
- School technology landscape
- School partnerships (state reporting, state mandated/funded programs, etc.)
- School Charter & Contract terms
- State Legislative & Political Climate
- Keep current a collection of instructional practices, curriculum, and technology tools to leverage in problem solving with schools.
- Train, coach, and empower Academic Success Partners to employ the toolbox of instructional tools in problem solving with Connections Academy schools.
- Establish an evaluation framework to determine the success of the instructional framework, the instructional toolbox, and of the Academic Success Partners who connect schools with the appropriate instructional, curriculum, and technology tool from the toolbox to achieve desired outcome.
- Proactively researches components of the instructional framework and state specific profile for upcoming changes or opportunities for school advantage.
- Keeps current and engaged with the Product Roadmap and Strategy, knowing when to plug in Academic Success Partners and schools with discoveries, focus groups, user acceptance testing, course creation collaboration, and the Small Wins engagement model.
- Advocates with Academic Success Partners to engage with and promote the Product Marketing site, Product Showcases, and BTS Previews and Training.
- Work with K12 industry experts, education technology experts, and state departments of education to keep our instructional practices, curriculum & technology tools, current and ready to be employed through the toolbox.
