What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Architect position at Pearson?
Summary:
You aspire to be a growing leader in the field of product architecture and love connecting the dots in SAAS offerings. You develop architectures for complex that significantly impact the businesses of your teams and clients. You identify needs, apply industry knowledge, and devise business and technology solutions to address those needs. You can deliver effectively across multiple application domains and see the forest for the trees.
This is a role reporting directly to the Vice President of Product Engineering and you will have the autonomy to work on projects as you see fit while coordinating with stakeholders, CTOs and leads from the best technical teams in Pearson.
Responsibilities:
- Design secure, high-volume, low-latency architectures for mission-critical applications that deliver high-availability and performance
- Design secure, performant and resilient microservices within a globally dispersed, multi-tenant, cloud architecture
- Ensure that architecture vision is clearly communicated to business leadership and delivery teams
- Create working prototypes to demonstrate technical design to teams
- Provide architectural oversight throughout all phases of the IT project lifecycle
- Define target state architecture and develop phased roadmaps that front load business value and deliver critical capabilities
- Ensure that implemented solutions align with technical vision and comply with architecture design principles and best practices
- Work with Enterprise Teams to ensure alignment with broader objectives.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience working on large, transformational projects and a proven ability to bring disparate technical teams together around a shared architectural vision
- Must have repeated experience successfully directing significantly complex architecture initiatives, developing solutions that typically involve different stakeholders, multiple lines of business, many solution varieties, business transformations, international and/or global scale
- Must have repeated experience in setting and driving architecture goals and objectives for significant business initiatives
- Must have made contributions to the architecture function within their company, such as development of training, or contributions to standards and best practices. They must also contribute to the development of other architects through teaching, coaching, and/or mentoring
- Strong communication skills and an ability to document and communicate complex architectural solutions in both business and technical terms
- Experience with Cloud(AWS, AZURE) based service and design principles.
- Extra credit for domain knowledge of large scale educational testing and test delivery systems.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $120k - $140k.
