We are seeking a Project Manager to add to our Evaluation Systems Project and Program Management team.
The Project Manager supports Evaluation Systems in the successful delivery and fulfillment of assigned program(s). The Project Manager may be responsible either for multiple projects or for one larger project within a program, which often requires multiple resources and functional integration. The Project Manager is familiar with project or program objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member. They spend significant time communicating with stakeholders (vendors, cross-functional teams, subcontractors) involved in the delivery of assigned projects or programs in order to ensure customer satisfaction. The Project Manager will anticipate opportunities and issues proactively as well as manage scope using project management applications and tools.

This is an important role for the Evaluation Systems business. The person occupying this role will effectively and proactively execute strategic projects across the business.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree desired or commensurate experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in a Project Management role
- PMP certification preferred or demonstrate an understanding and application of Project Management Institute (PMI) principles.
- Ability to make decisions based upon limited information.
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple, conflicting priorities, and work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- High sense of urgency and attention to detail is required.
- Effective verbal/written communication skills, strong listening, negotiation, and facilitation skills, and the ability to develop and deliver presentations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management
- Responsible for the overall project management life cycle (initiate, plan, execute, control, close).
- Create and manage project schedules and communicate schedule to internal and external groups.
- Ensures adherence to the quality management plan for all project deliverables.
- Identify changes to project scope or costs and work with the Program Manager to implement scope modification.
- Identify and track project risks and work with project stakeholders on risk mitigation plans.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process and quality improvements that promote cost reduction.
- Execute the tasks as defined in the project plan and schedule in order to meet customer deliverables.
- Capture project action items, assign owners and manage to closure.
Financial Management
- Support management with program invoicing and providing necessary documentation for invoicing.
- Identify process improvement initiatives to reduce cost while maintaining quality.
Collaboration
- Network with project stakeholders and resources (including customers, internal shared services groups, subcontractors, and vendors) to meet project goals.
- Work with other operating groups to operate, maintain, and grow the Evaluation Systems business
Reporting
- Prepare and present internal and external reports on program status, risks, and other program-related issues.
- Cascade key information throughout Evaluation Systems to provide people deeper insights needed to better manage the quality, speed and efficiency of efforts over time
- Develop monthly reports summarizing accomplishments, plans and potential issues with key KPIs
As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only , the range of starting pay for this role is $60,000 - $90,000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and information on benefits offered is here.
