Purpose Summary
The Student Services Analyst is a member of the Academic Services Team, reporting to the Student Services Lead. The Student Services Analyst is responsible for overseeing the Periodic Monitoring Review (PMR) of Special Education programs and services for Connections Academy Schools. The Audit and Compliance Analyst analyzes PMR results, recommends corrective action, and communicates with stakeholders to develop action plans.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities
- Oversees the “Periodic Monitoring Review” (PMR) process for Connections Academy schools
- Collaborates with Special Populations Consultants to ensure Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) for students with disabilities is provided
- Works closely and collaboratively with Research and Regulatory Specialist to educate Special Populations Consultants on relevant state-specific and/or federal guidelines and how they affect the ways schools provide services
- Communicates steps in the PMR process and reviews appropriate files and school-level documentation
- Analyzes results of the PMR process and related discoveries to educate schools on how to improve processes to result in greater compliance
Required Skills, Experience, and Competencies
- Bachelor's degree required with a background in federal and state special education policy
- Ability to understand and translate special education statues and policies
- Strong research, organizational and issue management skills
- The ability to work well and remain focused in a team environment
- The ability to be a self-starter and work independently
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Technologically proficient (especially with the use of the internet and Microsoft Office Products)
- Proven record of accomplishment of working collaboratively in a fast-paced work environment with multiple competing deadlines
- Ability and willingness to do detail-oriented work
- Good problem-solving skills, and the ability and willingness to work under pressure from time-to-time
Key relationships
- Works closely with Student Services Specialists, the Research and Regulatory Analyst, the Special Populations Paralegal, and the Student Services Lead
- Interacts with internal and external legal teams
