Software Product Manager, Identity Management
Summary
The role focuses on the domain of customer Identity Management for the majority of Pearson's online businesses - serving global partners and traversing K12, Higher Education, and Professional Development lines of business.
The Product Manager for Identity Management provides leadership for multiple cross-functional software delivery teams (comprised of software engineers, software quality engineers, and technical project managers) sharing responsibility for planning, designing, and delivering on capabilities to support Pearson's diverse portfolio of learning products and delivery channels. The Product Manager is active in all phases of planning and development, from gathering stakeholder input and requirements through design and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Gather requirements and other documentation to support the development process
- Write, groom, and prioritize users' stories
- Contribute to roadmap definition
- Serve as product owner in Agile Development ceremonies, including daily scrum, iteration planning, and product demos
- Execute on the Identity roadmap, incorporating partner platform requirements, and developing in close coordination with other Pearson teams
- Troubleshoot and facilitate the resolution of production issues
- Maintain relevant scope and delivery timelines.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 3 years' software product management experience
- Experience with large-scale systems integration projects, possessing a strong aptitude for managing complex issues
- Understanding and application of Identity or Access Management, Data Privacy, or Data Security concepts
- Experience managing stakeholders with divergent priorities
- Strong technical aptitude with experience building microservices or APIs
- The ability to communicate as effectively with technical teams as with business stakeholders
- Demonstrated teamwork skills
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Detail-oriented, possessing concise and assertive communication skills
- Confident in making sound and timely decisions using strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects
- Proficient in working collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team, building consensus both horizontally and vertically
- Familiar with Scaled Agile Development methodologies
Desired:
- Experience developing customer-facing user interfaces
- Experience with native mobile development
- Experience with education technology
As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $100 - 120k per year.
