What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teaching Administrator position at Pearson?
The American History Course Facilitator is responsible for grading student papers, providing feedback and answering questions related to written assignments within 3 business days of submission. The Facilitator also is responsible for responding to other student messages within the LMS and assisting the Course Operations team with curricular questions within the discipline.
Primary Responsibilities
- Grade students’ written assignments in line with course rubric and provide helpful feedback.
- Respond to students’ questions related to their written assignments.
- Provide clarification and guidance regarding the learning experience in the course as needed.
- Escalate technical issues to the Course Operations department for resolution.
- Escalate any other student concerns not related to written assignments to the Course Operations department for resolution.
- Maintain flexibility, a positive attitude, and a willingness to complete any additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Masters or Doctorate in the discipline or 18 graduate level credit hours within the discipline
- Online course facilitation experience preferred
- Knowledge/experience of Canvas a plus
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to respond to student questions and assignment submissions in a 3-day window
Supervisory Responsibilities
- No supervisory responsibilities.
Other job details
- Course Facilitators will render 19 or fewer work hours per week
- Not eligible for benefits other than sick leave
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
Minimum full-time hourly salary range is between $25 - $28.
