GED Testing Services is the largest business within the Workforce Skills division. GED testing has opened doors to better jobs and college programs for more than 20 million graduates since 1942. The GED test is accepted by virtually all U.S. colleges and employers. As the creator of the one official GED test, GED Testing Service has a responsibility to ensure that the program continues to be a reliable and valuable pathway to a better life for the millions of adults without a high school diploma. GED Testing Service is a joint venture between the American Council on Education and Pearson.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning and execution of the GED Annual Conference, COABE, and other National State Conferences where GED has a large sponsorship. Oversee all relevant event logistics, related to the conference including location selection, contract coordination, budget creation and management, CVENT website creation and developing and adhering to event timelines; work cross functionally with multiple internal departments, properties, agencies, and senior-level leadership
- Oversee over 50 adult education trade shows and events which includes securing booth space, ad placement, sponsorship, and securing attendee email lists.
- Oversee GED's warehouse, including inventory and GED marketing and print materials used for conferences and events
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, internal departments, and outside vendors; organize and facilitate planning meetings (e.g., strategy sessions, progress checks) to ensure that all parties involved are properly informed and contributing, as necessary, to ensure that program objectives are met
- Work collaboratively across internal departments to manage lead tracking, communication, advertising, registration, and pre- and post-event evaluations
- Responsible for GED's warehouse, including inventory and GED marketing and print materials used for conferences and events
- lude agenda development, registration build and management, app creation, speakers, communications, survey development, technology needs, meeting space and food & beverage planning, signage, templates, property sourcing, promo items, creative, vendor-relations, accounts payable, timelines, etc while following company processes and guidelines
- Operate as a point of contact to schedule, build, facilitate and host small to large format external virtual events with high visibility, while possessing exceptional knowledge of webinar and virtual environment platforms
- Integrate with marketing teams to schedule, create and launch emails, ad space, and banners to promote virtual and in-person events while ensuring websites are designed and company branded to maximize persona-aligned registrations
- Develop post-event items including but not limited to survey data, recordings, attendee lists, presentations, and budget reconciliation
- Conduct metric and ROI analyses on program effectiveness, measuring the business impact of events in terms of revenue and attendance through analysis of sales and marketing reports and presenting results to manager for communication to marketing and sales organizations
- Troubleshoot any technical issues with internal teams and work for resolution to secure seamless delivery of virtual programs
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support the business
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in the events, conferences or other marketing-related field required
- Experience planning and facilitating successful virtual and in-person events required
- Outstanding organizational, written, communication, interpersonal, production, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and manage relationships with stakeholders including staff, authors, keynote speakers, and executive level decision makers
- Ability to remain calm in a high-pressure, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment
- Exceptional problem-solving and technical skills
- Creative, curious, and unafraid to share new ideas and initiatives
- Must be willing to travel up to 10 times per year based on company needs and policies
The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is
$55-60K. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
