What are the responsibilities and job description for the Novice Crew Coach position at Peddie?
Novice Rowing Coach:
Responsibilities include:
· Teaching people who have never rowed before the fundamentals of the rowing stroke and coxing in boats on the water and on ergs.
· Creating a positive, competitive, and fun team atmosphere with the primary goal of having novices return to the varsity program next year.
· Preparing novice rowers and coxswains for competition in head and sprint races.
Required skills, experience and certifications:
· At least three years collegiate rowing/coxing experience or above
· Be able to swim
· Know how to drive a coaching launch
· Have a NJ Boating Safety License
· Complete US Rowing Safe Sport Training
*Boating license and Safe Sport Training can be completed ASAP, but not required to apply.
Peddie practices Mon-Sat afternoons in the fall and spring. Races occur most weekends in the spring with one season-ending scrimmage in the fall.
