OVERVIEW
Performs a variety of set up and operation duties to ensure cushions fit container configurations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Works from part drawings, bill of materials, assembly drawings, written and/or verbal instructions. Maximizes stock usage. Performs activities necessary for layout of sub-component construction and assembly for a variety of first-time and repeat insert requirements.
- Sets up and performs basic operations utilizing equipment such as vertical, horizontal and profile saws, die-cutting press, and glue applicators. Selects stock and cuts sheet stock to proper dimensions and tolerances.
- Uses a computer network to bring up files at Water Jet. Sets adjustments, pressures, etc. according to charts, tables for foam type and dimensions. Operates Water Jet to obtain proper cuts and pieces. Checks parts for acceptance. Resolves and/or brings to the attention of group leader, supervisor cut file problems and to the attention of cut file programmer.
- Lays out and glues foam sub-components and components for final assembly through lamination operations.
- Performs self-inspections on completed assemblies.
- Maintains established quality and quantity standards. Follows prescribed safety precautions, established company and department policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision. Maintains work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
- Maintains daily production and other records as required.
- Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the job.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience with manufacturing experience.
- Ability to measure tape measure
BONUS POINTS FOR:
- Experience with hot melt gluing applications.

- Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be constantly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
