Job Summary:
Business Development Manager will work closely with builders, contractors and architects promoting the Pella of Oklahoma products and services. The BDM will primarily focus on new home construction with additional focus on light commercial projects, additions, remodeling, and replacement projects through remodeling contractors. Segment responsibilities include Trade and Commercial Sales. In this position follow-up is key and the ability to overcome objections to secure business relationships is necessary. Developing long-term relationships with Architects, Builders, and Contractors is a key ingredient to the success of this position.
Schedule and Availability:
- Weekdays during normal business hours from 8am to 5pm
- Some event attendance as required by management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prospect for and gain new customers to grow the account base.
- Discover opportunities for engagement for all segments for Pella of Oklahoma
- Produce qualified leads and produce contract proposals.
- Serve as a brand ambassador for Pella of Oklahoma.
- Work closely with Sales Managers to partner in building and maintaining customer relationships.
- Attend a variety of industry-relevant events.
- Maintain current client relationship and identifying areas of potential customers.
- Research the latest in the business industry and create new opportunities to expand business.
- Presenting various products and services to customers.
- Work closely with Marketing Coordinator on all planned events
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of construction industry
- Entrepreneurial spirit- willing to self-motivate and engage customer opportunities without direct guidance

- Ability to manage multiple successful customer relationships
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University; or 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two to four years of sales experience strongly preferred
Mathematical and Reasoning Skills
- Ability to understand customer needs and offer appropriate solutions
Computer Skills:
- Must be proficient with Microsoft suite
- Must be familiar with smart devices
- Ability to learn and utilize proprietary Pella software programs and applications and other business critical applications
Communication Skills:
- Ability to provide clear communication with customers via emails, telephone calls, and/or text messages in a timely manner
- Ability to verbally present information and respond to questions from customers and managers, and the public
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to travel
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, type or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, or crouch
Work Environment
- Work is conducted at customer jobsites and in the office
