FREELANCE SENIOR PRODUCTION DESIGNER, PACKAGING

Peloton is looking for a seasoned Packaging Production Designer to join our Creative team for 3 months. The Production Designer’s main focus will be creating and updating production ready packaging and print mechanicals. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in print/packaging production, shows an exceptional eye for detail, and works well within a team. This role will report out of our NY HQ with the ability to work from home a few days a week. Since this role is project specific, a 3 month commitment is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage production deliverables related to packaging design throughout the entire process including laying out new packaging artwork based on our packaging guidelines, prepping production ready files and reviewing both digital and physical proofs/samples for mass production
- Updating our existing design system to integrate new legal requirements into our entire line of packaging
- Work in close partnership with the packaging team’s designers and project manager to plan, analyze, organize and execute assigned projects
- Organize and maintain production files and assets on both a server and within a PLM system
- Coordinate and control quality across various packaging manufacturers
- Meet key deliverables while managing multiple priorities simultaneously
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6 years of experience in print and production design
- Degree in Graphic Design or a related field
- Expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite
- Stellar portfolio of work demonstrating relevant experience
- Willingness to focus on the production oriented tasks within a creative team
- Solid understanding of packaging forms, 2D dielines, printing, materials and manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with global legal/compliance packaging requirements and comfortability designing in multiple languages
- Skilled in typography and experience working within a tight set of standards
- Comfortable accepting and addressing feedback and flexible in accommodating fast and frequent changes
- Highly self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity and able to navigate project complexities independently
- Efficient, detail-oriented and precise
