Team Description
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join one of our engineering teams in Sheffield, working on our front line products.
As an engineer you will help our customers build what matters, elevating the world’s experience with software.
You will join a team building the tools that allow product managers to gather the full picture of the customer, by integrating qualitative feedback data with the full power of Pendo’s analytics and guidance platform.

Role Responsibilities
- Write maintainable, high-quality code that requires few iterations
- Gain a deep understanding of the company's technology stack in either Vue (frontend) or Go (backend)
- Take ownership of tasks and projects within the team, collaborating with peers to break down work into manageable components
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies, refinement sessions, and other team activities, effectively communicating ideas, concerns, and potential solutions
- Exhibit a growth mindset by demonstrating self-awareness and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other team members to plan, design, and implement new product features
- Contribute to code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to improve overall code quality and team collaboration
- Adapt to a fast-paced, product-led environment, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to learn new technologies quickly
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven experience in application development for a non-trivial number of users, or technical degree in Computer Science
- Solid understanding of web application architecture, including APIs, HTTP requests, databases, caching, and related concepts
- Strong foundation in computer science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and software design
- Familiarity with build tools, CI/CD and development workflows
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, product-led SaaS environment and learning new technologies quickly
Preferred Qualifications
- Obtained a technical degree or equivalent industry experience
- Exposure to both frontend and backend technologies, as well as statically typed languages (e.g., TypeScript, Go, Java)
- Hands-on experience working with components that consume live data
- Experience writing and maintaining unit tests for your code an advantage
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and related services, such as serverless architecture, storage, and deployment

Compensation
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide.
The expected salary range for this role to be performed in Sheffield is £35,000-£60,000
Individual pay rate decisions, including offers made within and over the expected salary range, are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.
