Summary
Maintains, processes, and balances cash drawer and checks according to cash and check handling procedures. Accurately submits and balances checks electronically.
Demonstrates a good understanding with a wide variety of products and services and proactively seeks and suggests benefits (including phone and mail) to members and prospective members.
Ensures that members are promptly and professionally served.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Accurately performs teller functions at the Teller Line and ITM's using 2 separate systems (Active Teller and Gold), assisting members with financial transactions using CML skills, to include receiving and paying out cash and other negotiable instruments.
Maintains, processes, and balances cash drawer and checks according to cash and check handling procedures. Ensures drawer and checks are in balance before closing their drawer at the end of day.
Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services and direct members to appropriate department for specific information and service.
Ensures members are promptly and professionally served both in person and by phone.
Demonstrates a good understanding with a wide variety of products and services and proactively seeks and suggests benefits (including phone and mail) to members and prospective members.
Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including filing, copying, scanning, data input, and answering the telephone.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned including BSA functions as needed, specifically creation of CTR's and logging purchases of negotiable instruments.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience - Up to six months of similar or related experience
Education - A high school diploma or GED
Communication - Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and / or outside of the organization, generally regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
Other Skills - General office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, scanners, 10-key calculator, and computer keyboard skills required;
must be accurate with numbers and names. The ability to operate dispensers, recyclers, coin counting and cash counting machines.
Basic knowledge of establishes teller procedures and policies. Understanding of Credit Union operations. Maintains confidentiality related to Credit Union operations and work-related information.
Must have effective communication skills.
Physical requirements - Must be able to stand for long periods of time in a day (up to 10 hours), possess hand wrist and finger dexterity to use keyboard, phone, and calculator in a repetitive manner throughout your scheduled time, have the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
bend over to a 90-degree angle and bend knees to attain a crouching position, the ability to view a computer monitor throughout your scheduled time.
Availability - Must be available to work from 7 : 30 a.m. through 7 : 30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays and have a flexible schedule.
May be required to work at other branches and have the ability to travel to those branches.
Travel
Minimal Employee may be required to travel to another branch occasionally.
