Summary:
The Laboratory Assistant will work closely with the Laboratory Manager, research pharmacists, clinical research technicians and interns to ensure the safety and efficacy of medications which are compounded, manufactured or repackaged by the Investigational Drug Service (IDS) for clinical trial use, while also meeting the needs of clinical trials in a timely, compliant and professional manner. The Laboratory Assistant will carry out daily tasks involving compounding, manufacturing, repackaging and laboratory testing for products used in the IDS.
Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of complex, analytical and technical lab experiments, including HPLC assay of drug products
Analyze data generated from lab experiments, enter procedures into notebooks and computer systems
Maintain equipment and inventory of supplies and reagents in the laboratory
Assist in training and oversight of interns, students and technicians in the production and packaging of investigational drug products; assist in completing batches if necessary to ensure project timelines are met
Perform routine technical lab and/or research-related tasks
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SOP's, adhere to and accurately complete work according to SOP's.
Assist Lab Manager in other duties as needed
Credentials:
Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred
Education or Equivalent Experience:
Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
Prior experience in a laboratory setting preferred
