Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is looking for a full-time Nurse Case Manager for Occupational Medicine!!!!!
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the scheduling of required diagnostic testing and therapeutic services for employees receiving ongoing care at the practice for work-related injuries
- Follows up on specialist care and diagnostic testing of patients; ensures proper documentation in PennChart; communicates results and specialist OV notes to Occ Med providers and Third-party insurers as necessary
- Discusses scheduling of care with injured employees; follows up with active patients
- Monitors needlestick injuries and BFEs at HUP and outside practices
- Communicates work restrictions to patient’s supervisor
- Communicates patient concerns/questions to appropriate Occ Med provider(s)
- Interfaces with Disability/Risk Management staff at both UPHS, UPenn and other external clients to ensure proper WC policies are followed
- Facilitates monthly Disability Mmgt/OccMed meetings to discuss open WC cases
- Provides necessary information to WC payors and administrators, such as office visit notes, work restrictions, and return-to-work instructions
- Coordinates impaired employees’ evaluation, testing and reporting with ED, HR, managers, lab and the MRO
- Performs urine drug screen (UDS) collection for applicable UPenn and Dept of Transportation patients; trains other Occ Med staff in proper collection and processing; monitors compliance of trained staff; orders UDS supplies
- Collects and reviews all annual Animal Handler Medical Evaluations against databases to determine if employee is cleared or needs further Occ Med evaluation/procedures
- Prepares ICES data; attends monthly Environment of Care (EOC) meetings
- Maintains OSHA log for body fluid exposures (BFEs)
- Conducts spirometry testing as part of annual PE’s on select patients
- Conducts audiometry testing as part of annual PE’s on select patients
- Helps place ERTW employees in appropriate areas; coordinates efforts with DM & OM staff
- Assists with telephone f/up and data management for surveillance and immunization programs
- Assists with data collection and f/up for infectious disease exposures in the workplace
- Assists with immunization nurse responsibilities as needed (PPDs, vaccinations, quality control checks, etc)
Credentials:
- Registered Nurse - PA (Required)
- Prior OccMed experience (Preferred)
- Prior case management experience (Preferred)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Required)
Master of Science in Nursing (Preferred)
