SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible to prepare appropriate instruments, equipment and supplies for the administration of each type of anesthetic procedure. Assist the Anesthesiologist/CRNA in the insertion of invasive monitoring such as arterial lines, CVP, swan/ganz and ICP, induction and transportation of monitored/high-risk patients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Individual must provide evidence of one of the following:
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program and maintains a surgical technologist certification; new graduates of accredited surgical tech programs may obtain certification within six months of graduation.
- Completion of an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the US Army, Navy, or Air Force
- Previously employed to practice surgical technology by the hiring Penn State Health (PSH) healthcare facility on or before December 29, 2020, or had been employed to practice surgical technology as the primary function at another healthcare facility at any time during the two years prior to December 29, 2020.
- 2 years of experience in Surgical Technology required.
- AHA BLS required prior to end of orientation
