JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Supply Chain and Information Systems Department is seeking a course manager for MIS 250, Introduction to Problem Solving with Spreadsheet Analysis and Information Systems .
Job Duties
- The course manger will assist and support the instructor in all aspects of course delivery, primarily by handling individual student communication chains.
- Electronic messages from students will need to be responded to, and/or forwarded to the instructor or teaching assistants, and tracked to assure issues are handled in a timely and appropriate manner.
- The course manager will also supplement the teaching assistants by holding weekly office-hours (online) to address common issues with homework assignments as well as course logistics.
This opening is expected to involve 16-20 hours per week, which can be highly flexible, but should include participation in at least one of the two class meetings each week. (During class time, the course manager will help to assure continuity between sections, and raise common issues/questions to be addressed in the group setting.) Additionally, the course manager may be asked to administer pre-arranged class work-sessions to aid students in the completion of assignments.
