Job Summary:
Organizes and prioritizes all activities involved in loading, unloading, storing, transferring, and distributing materials such as prime aluminum, dealer scrap, internally generated scrap and other misc. metals and materials in yard by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Confers with plant personnel and plans and allocates use of materials handling equipment such as forklifts, trailers, and trucks.
- Ensures that all entries are completed in a timely manager and that all metal is accounted for in the system.
- Keeps a record of materials received and used.
- Inspects incoming materials and verifies bills of lading/pack slips.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Responsible for providing guidance to the team on shift.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
1 Year experience in data entry
1 Year experience in Yard Jockey
1 Year Leadership Role
1 Year experience in Forklift
