Summary:
The Recovery Therapist will provide SUD treatment services including assessments, individual, group and family therapy in the SUD Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient programs. The Recovery Therapist will be working within the context of a team to provide mental health and/or substance abuse counseling services to clients that meet medical necessity. The Recovery Therapist works collaboratively with the team to assess and link the client and families to needed community services and coordinates all the services that the client receives. The Recovery Therapist documents all services according to Department of Mental Health, Department of Health Care Services Alcohol and other drug standards (AOD), Department of Public Health Substance Abuse Prevention Control (SAPC), Joint Commission, and Penny Lane guidelines.
The Recovery Therapist is an energetic self-starter who is able to function comfortably in a team environment or independently and relates well to co-workers and County representatives. This position requires flexibility and the ability to manage time and multiple tasks with little supervision. The individual in this position must be able to assume a wide range of responsibilities, provide timely responses to requests and deadlines and works well under pressure.
Requirements
Salary Range: $68,557 up to $82,672 per year
Additional $5,000 per year bilingual Spanish differential.
SIGN ON BONUS: $5,000 (Issued in two installments: $2,500 upon date of hire and $2,500 upon successfully completing the six month introductory period).
Eligible employees may request up to 5 days of Paid Time Off to study for their licensure.

Requirements
- Must be registered or licensed with the Board of Behavioral Sciences or the Board of Psychology.
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in related field.
- Clinical experience and/or training in substance use disorders, working in a drug treatment facility or mental health clinic preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish Required.
- Must have a current valid California driver’s license and current automobile insurance. Must have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization’s insurance company. Must have immediate access to his or her vehicle during work hours.
