A Typical Day
The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for all onsite service and support needs for our customers, IT and IT business units. This relates to all technology, to include: virtual workstations, servers, patch management, and vendor specific hardware and software. The Senior Systems Engineer will design, implement, and support our enterprise virtualization and end user computing environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in VMware Horizon, VMware Cloud on AWS (VMC), Workspace ONE, App Volumes, Windows deployment, mobile device management, and Azure integration.
The Senior Systems Engineer will:
- Design and deploy VMware Horizon virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions, including Horizon Cloud Pod Architecture (CPA) for hybrid deployments
Implement and manage VMware Workspace ONE for unified endpoint management and secure access to virtual applications and desktops
Configure and maintain App Volumes for real-time application delivery including lifecycle management
Develop and maintain Windows custom images and deployment processes
Integrate mobile device management (MDM) solutions like Workspace ONE for unified endpoint management
Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for Horizon environments, leveraging VMC on AWS or Azure VMware Solution
Collaborate with networking and security teams to design and implement secure remote access solutions like Unified Access Gateways, and general VDI compliance.
Automate deployment and configuration tasks using PowerShell, APIs, and other scripting tools
Provide Tier 3 support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for EUC-related issues
Stay up-to-date with latest EUC technologies and industry best practices
What You’ll Bring
5 years of experience in enterprise EUC/VDI deployments, preferably with VMware Horizon
Strong understanding of VMware virtualization technologies (vSphere, vSAN, NSX) and cloud solutions (VMC on AWS)
Hands-on experience with Horizon, Workspace ONE, App Volumes, and customized Windows OS deployment
Familiarity with AWS (VMC) and Azure (AVD)
Knowledge of networking concepts (VPNs, load balancing, firewalls) for secure remote access
Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, APIs, etc.)
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication and documentation skills

Compensation: Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below:
- Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role
- Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role
- Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role
Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
