Role Summary
Under the direction of the human resource manager, the human resources coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the human resources department ) which includes improving the quality of work life for all employees and providing leadership to all management to support policies and procedures in accordance with the Employee’s Charter. The human resources coordinator serves as a resource that completes administrative duties for the human resources department of an organization. Coordinator will assist HR managers with scheduling interviews, maintain employee records, and provide administrative support to all employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas
- Ensure all employee records are maintained and updated with new hire information or changes in employment status
- Produce and submit reports on general HR activity
- Assist with orientation and ad-hoc HR projects
- Support other assigned functions
Key Qualifications/Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:
- Maintain confidential and sensitive employee data and information relating to employee and management issues
- Provide support to employees by being the first point of contact for employee questions from either walk-in traffic or phone calls to HR
- Prepare PowerPoint slides, awards, gift cards, etc., for Employee Meetings
- Administration of employee programs: shoes, uniforms, glasses, lockers, etc.
- Maintain the HR forms rack and HR required postings / updating employee TV communications slides
- Maintain HR supplies, mail process, and UPS/FedEx packages
- Support the HR Manager and team with administrative needs
- Maintaining I-9 Forms
- Maintain tracking sheets and assist with reports
- Maintain employee files
- Planning or assisting with employee events
- Perform other duties as required
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have demonstrated intermediate skills in Microsoft Office / Excel / Power Point
- Must have demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Additional Information
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The human resource coordinator may sit comfortably to perform the work. Some of the physical demands of this position include sitting for prolonged periods of time, walking up and down staircases, occasional lifting, occasional stooping and bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts and driving an automobile. Must be able to work flex time in order to cover all three shifts.
EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED:
- Some of the equipment and tools used are computer, telephone, fax machine, copier/printer, and a projector.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field with one year of related experience; or Associate’s Degree (A.A.) with 2 years of related experience.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 1-3 years of human resource related experience
OTHER:
- Ability to obtain a valid driver’s license
AREAS OF TRAINING REQUIRED:
- New Hire Training, Employee Charter Training, Safety Training

- Performance Assessment conducted by Supervisor and/or Department Manager.
