Brick layers, building and repairing walls, fireplaces, and other structures with brick, terra cotta, precast masonry panels, concrete block, and other masonry materials. Performing pointing, cleaning, and caulking on repair brickwork, particularly on older structures.The pay rate for this job is $20 - $28 / hourResponsibilities:Laying bricks, pre-cutting stone and concrete blocks in mortar.Constructing, extending, repairing domestic and commercial buildings, structures and foundations.Assisting with general clean up, forming and pouring finished concrete, mixing mortar and experience with building scaffolding.Must be physically fit, have a great attitude, work as a team, committed to the craft of brick laying and masonry work, follow direction, be on time, fully tooled and have reliable transportation.Laying bricks, stone, and concrete blocks in mortar.Repairing building blocks.Measuring out build areas.Mixing mortar, either by hand or with a mechanical mixer.Applying or removing mortar.Shaping bricks with hand tools or powered equipment.Using a spirit level, laser level, or plumb line to ensure rows are straight.Qualifications6 years experience working in brick laying craft on restorative and new construction projectsAttention to detail and ability to be thorough.Knowledge of building and the construction industry.Ability to work well in a team.Flexibility and adaptability.Physical fitness, including strength, coordination, and balance.Ability to work well with your hands.
