PEORIA CHIEFS MASCOT PERFORMER INFORMATION
Job Description:
The Peoria Chiefs, the High-A Central affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, are looking for an energetic performer to bring our mascot, Homer, to life for the upcoming season. In this role you will participate as the in-game performer for all Peoria Chiefs home games, regular season plus playoffs. In addition, you will be required to attend appearance requests and community events throughout the entire year.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Perform as Homer for all 2022 Peoria Chiefs home games ­– regular season plus playoffs. 
  • Work with the promotions team to develop mascot skits to entertain fans between innings during our games. 
  • Manage and maintain costumes, outfits, props, and other items
  • Bring a positive attitude to the ballpark, day in and day out.
  • Represent the organization in a professional manner in and out of the suit during outside events and appearances.  

Requirements:
  • The ideal performer will be physically fit and able to bring high energy throughout a Peoria Chiefs game. 
  • Must be 18 years or older with reliable transportation. 
  • 5’7” – 6’2” with a lean, to medium build to fit into the costume.
  • Creativity, dancing ability, consistency, and ability to communicate through body language. 
  • You must be a highly skilled performer with a great ability to improvise and animate.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Previous experience as a mascot or entertainer is a plus. 
  • Must be good with children and be outgoing and personable.  
  • The Chiefs play 66 home games from April through September. You will have a preset schedule of game dates and times. 
  • Most games are in the evening and dates will include weekends. Please note our mascot performs outside in the summer, so you must be able to withstand the heat in the suit. 
  • Additional appearance requests will take place throughout the calendar year.
  • Compensation is on a per game and per appearance basis and will be paid bi-weekly.
