Job Summary: The job of DIRECTOR-FEDERAL PROGRAM STUDENT SUPPORT has the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for the overall coordination of federal programs and services; direct supervision of Migrant and Homeless Education; providing information and serving as a resource to others; achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines; and serving as a member of the leadership team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES generally include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Assumes responsibility for compliance with designated Title programs under ESSA
- Provides support for directors of specific federal grants
- Serves as the ESSA contact person/liaison with the Arizona Department of Education
- Assumes responsibility for all applicable state and federal reporting
- Oversees the planning, implementation, evaluation, and on-going monitoring of Title I; Migrant, Neglected and Delinquent and Homeless Education programs.
- Works closely with building administrators in Title I schools to develop and implement effective Title I services
- Plans and implements summer programs for Title I and migrant students
- Develops and maintains budgets for the various programs
- Ensures Title I services to eligible private school children
- Coordinates services to homeless students
- Oversees parent involvement as required by ESSA
- Facilitates, supervises, and evaluates and the homeless education liaison.
- Provides training related to ESSA and budget development
- Promotes, supports, and plans professional development activities appropriate for teachers and other staff in Title I schools
- Supports schools in the school improvement process
- Aligns site plans to the district strategic plan and prepares necessary school improvement documents for District Team consideration and/or approval
- Works collaboratively with department directors, coordinators, and coaches to provide support in a tiered model for identified schools
- Establishes Title I procedures for parental notification and communication.
- Involves parents in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Title I program services.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required by the Chief Academic Support Officer.?
- Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, policies and procedures
- Knowledge of applicable Peoria Unified School District and departmental policies and procedures
- Knowledge and experience with grant applications and reporting procedures
- Knowledge of ESSA legislation
- Skill in developing and monitoring grant budgets of various sizes
- Skill in developing effective data collection procedures
- Skill in analyzing and using achievement data for the purpose of program evaluation and instructional decisions making
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent group facilitation and consensus building skills
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, vendors, students, parents, the general public and others having business with the school district.
- Skill in collaborating with district office personnel, team members, colleagues, and principals by a demonstrating positive, supportive relationships in the work environment
- Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background clearance check.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona driver’s license.
- May be required to work outside normal working hours
- May be required to travel to perform work functions
