What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Cloud Engineer position at Peraton?
We are searching for a talented Chief Cloud Engineer to become part of Peraton’s Federal Strategic Cyber organization. This position will be located in Arlington, VA.
The Chief Cloud Engineer will be responsible for overseeing, improving, and upgrading enterprise cloud services, software, and hardware. You will leverage your expertise to create cloud-oriented concrete solutions for optimal business strategies while ensuring the organization is staying on top of the latest trends, technologies, software, and hardware that could improve business processes.
What you’ll do:
The Chief Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:
- Builds end-to-end user service-oriented products, testing and integrating them with a mixture of distributed, COTs and custom applications.
- Designs, develops, builds and deploys highly scalable, fault-tolerant, elastic and secure cloud based and distributed services
- Works with a variety of cloud-based architectures (public, private and hybrid).
- Integrates external and internal cloud systems with non-cloud on-premise networks, to allow for secure communication between the systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 20 years’ experience
- US Citizenship and a current active DoD TOP SECRET Clearance; with SCI ELIGIBILITY
- Certified in ITIL 3 framework with willingness to obtain ITIL 4
Desired Qualifications:
- Current SCI Clearance
- Possess ITIL 4 certification
- Possess one (or more) of the following: SAFe Practitioner (SP), SPC, LPM, CISSP, Cloud , Security
- PMP

Salary Minimum: $97,500
Salary Mid: $195,000
Salary Maximum: $243,800
The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Peraton provides a variety of benefits to employees.
