What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications Specialist position at Peraton?
The Global Health and Financial Solutions team is seeking a Communications Specialist to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in our Global Health and Financial Solutions Sector. This role plays an instrumental role in supporting our Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (HHS-OIG) client. This position is remote with the ability to go onsite as needed.
What you'll do:
- Provide strategic communication services by proactively delivering an ongoing campaign to identify IT tasks that can be solved by the end user with improved automation and intelligence.
- Draft communications (e.g., web pages, emails, newsletters, and videos) to guide users through the self-help steps, and publishing and promoting the content.
- Develop and deliver communications about HHS OIG IT systems and tools.
- Use existing channels including OIG intranet, emails, videos, and infographics, as well as future channels for improved customer communications.
- Develop standards for HHS OIG internal and external communications, including, but not limited to, creation of high-quality templates for PowerPoint presentations, reports, newsletters, and marketing materials.
- Support HHS OIG users in the use of these templates.
- Frequently review data such as service desk tickets, web analytics, open rates, and surveys.
- Use the results of the data reviews to determine audience needs and deliver information to end users to achieve the strategic goal of expanding end-user knowledge and self-help processes of IT systems.
- Work in concert with IT project teams and other HHS OIG offices to develop communication campaigns to facilitate maximum user adoption with new and existing systems and tools (e.g. Office 365).
- Implement ways to make all end-user-targeted content compliant with Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
What you'll need:
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years, Master's degree with 3-5, PhD with 0-2 years of experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and delivering communications via web pages, emails, newsletters, and videos.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience developing standards for communications, including, but not limited to, creation of high-quality templates for PowerPoint presentations, reports, newsletters, and marketing materials.
- Familiarity with 508 compliance requirements.
- Experience developing communication campaigns to facilitate maximum user adoption with new and existing systems and tools (e.g. Office 365).
- Experience with Service Now reporting.
- U.S. Citizenship or have been a permanent resident for more than 3 years.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a (T4) position of Public Trust Clearance.

Salary Minimum: $57,500 Salary Mid: $115,000 Salary Maximum: $143,800 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Colorado Salary Minimum: $58,000
Colorado Salary Maximum: $140,600
