Responsibilities

Implements and optimizes the computerized database systems that support the Company's or client's ability to function on a daily basis. Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases. Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general. Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. Maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. May develop stored procedures and/or triggers. Administers a variety of database systems ,such as Microsoft SQL Server, and other Database Management Systems (DBMS). Develops and enforces database administration and user standards and procedures; audits, modifies, and amends data in systems using SQL commands. Oversees the scheduling of database projects, database and transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication between multiple SQL Servers and remote sites. Assists Database Designers/Information System Analysts in the development and creation of SQL and Web-based databases and database systems. Reviews technical designs, reports, documentation, and other materials produced by staff; creates and maintains high-level reporting systems using products such as Crystal Reports; researches and implements new database and online technology.

Leads a team of database engineers and administrators functioning across multiple tasks areas.

Correlates Publicly Available Information (PAI) generated data for kill chain analysis.

Designs database to serve as a repository of vulnerability assessment identification and mitigation tactics and techniques for use against adversary attack vectors, and for housing artifacts that will inform the System Vulnerability Assessments deliverable.

Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates and installs database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management.

Defines and oversees database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.

Provides technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a data base environment.

Advises applications development staff and users on data-based solutions to business problems, data architectures, data base management system facilities and capabilities, and the operation and tuning of data bases.

Ensures economic and efficient availability of data within adequate safeguards.

Designs and implements databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.

Uses data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases.

Determines data storage and optimum storage requirements.

Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation, systems, and develops technical, structural, and organizational specifications.

Communicates with technical, applications, and operational staff, in order to design an optimal database architecture (performance, accessibility, backup, and recovery plan).

Analyzes and makes recommendations for improvements to existing software regarding database performance, stability, usability and scalability.

Performs logical and physical data modeling, designs relational database models and creates physical data models from logical data models.

Designs database servers and interfaces to improve database and application performance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree and 8 years of related experience or Masters degree and 6 years of experience or PhD and 3 years of experience.

Range for Posting

Salary Minimum: $57,500 Salary Mid: $115,000 Salary Maximum: $143,800 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Peraton provides a variety of benefits to employees.
