Peraton is seeking a Enterprise Data Center Service Desk Trainer for our Kansas City, MO location.
Overview:
We are seeking a Datacenter Training
- Support US Marine Corps (USMC) enterprise-level data center operations
- Provide hands-on training for position specific requirements and introduction of new technologies and processes for USMC application hosting environment for world-wide customers
What you will do…
As a Trainer you will be responsible for training staff who ensure operations and security of critical infrastructure supporting worldwide USMC operations. The Trainner is responsible for providing hands-on skills training to new TAC Analysts and ensuring certification to perform assigned skills for managing, monitoring, responding to incidents, and supporting the hybrid cloud datacenter infrastructure and hosted application administrators for the USMC enterprise application hosting environment
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering hands-on training on role- and position-specific systems to ensure successful onboarding and integration of new staff
- Delivering hands-on training on new technologies and processes for TAC members to ensure readiness to accept operational responsibilitiy for monitoring and management .
- Collaborate with Shift Leads/Deputies to plan and execute hands-on training delivery.
- Collaborating with Training Developer and HCS engineers and architects to develop and implement customized training plans
- Collaborating with TAC Lead, Incident Manager, Problem Manager and Program ladership to develop trending and identify areas needing enhanced or re-training to improve service delivery
- Document training status and ensure rechecks at required intervals
- Working with TAC Lead and Government leadership to support special projects for the operation of the Tier 2 Service Desk.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: Required
- BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2 or HS 8-10 years
- Ability to participate as team member in a group responsible for successful upskilling of new and existing staff
- Ability to effectively communicate in verbal, written and non-verbal methods
- Ability to rapidly assimilate new requirements, identify integration TAC processes, and convey essential information in alternate methods depending upon receipients' needs
- Ability to demonstrate and explain technical skills and processes to others so they can perform independently
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively with peers, leadership, and customers to identify training needs and deliver training in an collaborative environment
- Experience and senior ability to triage datacenter incidents and events for effective resolution
- Senior experience with Active Directory account and server management and monitoring
- Experience preparing documentation and briefings for leadership in a concise and effective manner
- Experience with server administration: Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Linux (RHEL), SharePoint
- Senior experience with monitoring and management tools such as vCenter, vSphere, VMWare VRealize Operations Manager, LogInsight, Network Insight
- Senior experience with enterprise/datacenter Service Desk Operations including use of a service management tool (Remedy preferred)
- Experience monitoring Backup Systems, SQL Server, Oracle, Storage (SAN & NAS), Networking principles and equipment (CISCO, Palo Alto)
- Experience executing IT Service Management Processes and concepts with special emphasis on Incident and Event management
- Demonstrated customer service capabilities and focus
- Demonstrated ability to work with a virtual team across locations including coordination, collaboration and effective communication using synchronous and asynchronous tools and techniques
- IAT II Certification required (CCNA-Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, CND, SSCP)
- ITIL training or certification
- US citizenship
- Active SECRET security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS or Azure fundamentals certification or experience

Target Salary Range
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.EEO
