What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician position at Peraton?
Peraton is looking for a Customer Field Service Technician to work on site in Clinton, TN as part of our Remotec EOD robotics organization.
The ideal candidate is excited to provide world-class customer service and support of existing EOD robotic systems, and is a committed team player in successfully maintaining customer satisfaction. Experience with complex electro-mechanical assemblies and has the ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and has an aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving. The candidate is organized and drives customer support tasks to completion in a timely manner. Experienced customer trainer providing operational, maintenace and repair classes to end-users of equipment. Being willing and able to learn new things and take on additional roles/responsibilities is essential.
This work includes but is not limited to:
- Installing, maintaining and repair of products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at the business site, customer and/or field locations.
- Instruction of customers in equipment operation, provides technical assistance, performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment for malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time.
- Willing to travel to customer locations including international travel to perform operational and maintenance classes, repair, or other customer related events.
- Performing one or many of a wide range of assembly and repairs/upgrades of customer equipment including electro/mechanical assembly, electronics installation, system integration and testing.
- Installation of upgrades and removal of products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- The employee is required to reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
- The employee must have effective communication skills and relations to include phone, email and in-person correspondence within customer call center and/or at customer locations.
Required Experience/Education:
- HS 4-5 Years relevant experience customer training and support role.
- Basic computer skills, ability to effectively use Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Experience with machine assembly, electrical assembly, understanding of assembly drawings, electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Works well with basic machinery such as hand tools, drill presses, test and measuring equipment.
Desired Experiences:
- Customer service center or field service technician experience.
- Experience training and supporting unmanned ground vehicles.
- Experience in using customer database for maintaining customer service and repair records.
- Experience in service, operation and/or manufacture of unmanned robotic vehicles.
