Peraton has an immediate opening for an Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN) Remote Ground Station (RGS) Local Area Network (LAN) Systems Administrator at Kaena Point Tracking Station Hawaii. Be part of a fast-pace, mission-focused environment providing Tier 1-2-3 support, managing and directly impacting all internal assets on the site.
In this role, you will get a very broad range of hands-on work, to include servers, PC’s, user account management, telephone system maintenance and network infrastructure, with tremendous opportunity for meaningful growth.
The CAMMO contract maintains the requirement of operational performance through a consolidated service of operations, operation & site support, organizational & depot maintenance, sustainment, modifications and factory/launch compatibility testing for the SCN resulting in reduced Operations and Maintenance (O&M) costs. The CAMMO contract requires employees to perform mission essential functions for high consequence DoD missions during contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather, pandemic, or other emergency situations.
The LAN Systems Administrator will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Responsible for Hawaii Tracking Station (HTS) site LAN, computer systems, and Cybersecurity POC duties in accordance with AF Instructions and other governing pubs.
- Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving network, PC, Server, and phone system hardware and software configuration, interface and protocol problems both locally and remotely.
- Review, track, implement and respond to TCNOs, MTOs, and NOTAMs.
- Assist in performing analysis, planning, and design of the network architecture.
- Maintain all LAN and communications circuits and systems documentation.
- Perform diagnostic tasks on network servers, routers, switches, and similar equipment both locally and remotely.
- Support configuration management and perform network backups, file restores, PMIs, and new hardware and software testing prior to installation on the production network.
- Provide on-site and remote user Tier 1-2-3 Help Desk support as required.
- Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
- Maintain and update existing hardware and software inventories, and report to proper agencies as required.
Qualifications
Required Qualification:
- Active/Current DoD Secret security clearance or higher
- Bachelor's Degree and two (2 ) years of experience; Master’s Degree and no years of experience; High School Diploma/GED and eight (8 ) years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree can be used to substitute up to two (2) years of experiences
- Associate Degree can be substituted for one (1) years of experience
- Must have four (4 ) years’ experiences in LAN operations, maintenance, and support functions
- Must have a current COMPTIA Security CE or higher certification
- Demonstrated experience in Active Directory/DRA, and troubleshooting Windows Server and PC, User account and printer issues
- Demonstrated Server experience should include experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019 and cover a broad range of server roles (File/Printer, Application, Back-up, etc)
- Ability to lift 50lbs to waist level unassisted
- Occasional lifting in excess of the 50lbs is required as part of a two-person lift for larger items. Appropriate personal protective equipment and proper lifting techniques will be used
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years of experience; Master’s Degree and two (2) of experience; High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of experience
- Demonstrated experience in Cisco network infrastructure configuration and management to include VLANs, port settings, IP subnetting and cabling
- Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining Storage Area Networks and performing backup and restoration operations
- Demonstrated experience with or familiarity with Avaya VoIP telephone systems
