Position description:
Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer IV candidate to support an Intelligence Community customer in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. The candidate will define, identify, and implement improvements to services, processes, and infrastructure as well as measure, verify and report that these actions have been adequate, suitable, and effective.
The candidate will provide consulting and recommendations to managers, supervisors, and the workforce on the implementation of quality and process improvement initiatives. Develop and facilitate discovery sessions, planning meetings, training sessions, and process improvement meetings.
Using a holistic approach, designs develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with Agency requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Translates high-level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation. Generates system-level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Reviews test plans/procedures and ensure they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.
Propose, tailor, and develop quality/process re-engineering improvement efforts (to include the applicable documentation) to provide return-on-investment or operational improvement.
Provide support for applications that use modern software tools and techniques in a cloud computing environment. Compose technical documents including training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports in accordance with technical documentation guidelines and standards.
Develop sustainable code to deploy changes within the system. Operate other functional areas such as monitoring, backup/recovery, networking, logging, auditing, and more. Perform ticket resolution lifecycle via reports of systems issues by stakeholders. Along with the team, routinely interact with government stakeholders to communicate status, issues and progress.
Requires 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD.
Required qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study with 8 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Prior experience operating enterprise-scale systems incorporating a variety of components (COTS, Open Source, etc.)
- Strong experience with Linux and/or Windows operating systems
- Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Familiar with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Active Security certification (DoD 8570 baseline certification for IAT Level 2)
- Experience with VMware
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to anticipate problems & take decisive action
Desired qualifications
- Experience with ICD-503 or RMF security accreditation
- Experience using Confluence JIRA
- Knowledge of SQL Server and ORACLE
- Knowledge of Apache Servers and/or WebLogic clustered servers
- Familiar with Agile Methodologies
- DODIIS security/builds familiarity a plus

Colorado Salary Minimum: $82,992.00
Colorado Salary Maximum:$177,424.00
The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
