What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Engineer position at Peraton?
Peraton is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team in Landover, MD.
- Review and analyze the existing network architecture and provide designs of current/modern WAN/MAN/LAN technologies.
- Recommend best practices such as SDN, Intent-based networking, and network segmentation protocols, etc., in order to improve the existing architecture and meet new networking requirements.
- Design telecommunications circuit specifications.
- Identify the need for routers, switches, and encryption devices to support enterprise services.
- Deliver service catalog items for automatically provisioning network configurations to deliver Infrastructure-as -Code.
- Develop and maintain network architecture specifications and artifacts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD. Will consider additional experience in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 5-8 years of Cisco experience; proven expertise with Cisco network hardware including: routers, switches, firewalls, unified communications equipment.
- Must have an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Proven experience in VMware environments.
- Proven experience in virtual and physical Internet Protocol and Fiber Channel networks and routing protocols.
- Proven experience designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting LAN, WAN and low bandwidth networks protected by network encryptors.
- Information Assurance Certifications consistent with the 8570 IAT Level Ill.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification in Cisco, VMware, and/or ITIL is desired.

Salary Minimum: $57,500
Salary Mid: $115,000
Salary Maximum: $143,800
The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
