Peraton's Procurement Organization is seeking a highly strategic and analytical Procurement Director with a robust background in IT and non-IT commodity management as well as a deep understanding of federal government contracting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong foundation in business management and strategic decision-making. This role demands a visionary thinker with exceptional problem-solving skills and a proven track record of driving efficiency and innovation in sourcing strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams to evaluate supplier capabilities and establish strategic partnerships that enhance value, reduce risk, and improve the supply chain's sustainability.
- Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the IT and technology sectors within the context of both internal consumption and external federal government requirements.
- Develop and execute strategy and work toward developing a sourcing pipeline leveraging market research, business unit demands, business solutioning partners and rationalization of supplier base that delivers cost-saving agreements.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring compliance with federal procurement policies and achieving optimal terms for price, quality, and delivery.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT, legal, finance, and operations, to understand their needs and ensure the sourcing strategy supports overall business goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the sourcing process, leveraging data analytics and technology solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage supplier performance and develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure reliability and compliance with federal and organizational standards.

- Minimum of 8 years of experience in sourcing or procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in the IT and technology sectors.
- Comprehensive understanding of federal government operations, procurement regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills, with a proven track record of developing and maintaining strategic supplier partnerships.
- Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive projects to completion under tight deadlines.
- Proficient in the use of procurement software, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
