Join our team as a SATCOM Technician at an Air Force Satellite Control Network station in Thule Air Base, Greenland to support our Department of Defense customer. You will be part of a team that provides 24x7 support for the operation, control, and maintenance of mission critical United States Department of Defense and some non-DoD satellites, including continual execution of Telemetry, Tracking & Commanding (TT&C) operations. In addition, they provide early orbit launch support while satellites are in initial or transfer orbits and require commanding to maneuver to their final orbit.
**This position is unaccompanied and requires 24/7 support, via 12-hour shifts. Travel is minimal and only for training purposes.**
- Conducting SATCOM operations and sustaining the operability of communications-electronics equipment located at an Air Force Satellite Control Network Remote Tracking Station.
- Perform SATCOM operations, preventive maintenance inspections (PMI), and maintenance of assigned RF and telecommunications equipment.
- Perform work center operations, maintenance documentation, and supply/logistics activities as required.
- Frequently stoop/bend to enter an antenna door space 2ft x 2ft. Regularly work on a ladder assembly and climb to a height of 60 feet.
- Regularly lift 50lbs to waist level unassisted; occasionally individual lifting in excess of the 50lbs is required as part of a two person lift for larger items. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be used.
- Complete additional duties as assigned in either Primary or Alternate role.
- Completing all training and obtaining required certifications on all operations, maintenance and PMI duties.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma with one (1) year of relatable experience
- A graduate from a military signal corps school, civilian technical school, or equivalent, can be used to substitute for lack of relevant experience
- Computer networks,systems or equivalent, can be used to substitute for lack of relevant experience
- Have a valid/current US Tourist Passport
- A CompTIA Security certification or be willing and able to obtain one within 6 months from start
- Be willing to work shift schedules
- An Active SECRET clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/ GED with two (2) years’ of relatable experience in the operation and maintenance of radar, RG, telemetry, or electronic communications systems
- SATCOM Experience is highly desired
- A CompTIA Security certification
- Experience working in the Air Force Satellite Control Network
- Electronic repair experience and space systems experience preferred
- Experience supporting government and/or Department of Defense customers
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent teamwork skills
