Peraton is seeking a SCCM Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/ Transportation Security Administration (TSA) customer. Additionally, the role will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) platform within our client's enterprise IT environment. You will leverage your expertise to centralize management, enhance efficiency, ensure compliance, and optimize the deployment of software and updates across the organization.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.
- Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
- Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
- Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
- Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Maintain the SCCM platform to ensure centralized configuration management.
- Ensure that all devices within the organization can be efficiently controlled and updated from a single hub.
- Collaborate with IT teams to align SCCM capabilities with organizational needs.
- Efficiently plan, execute, and monitor software deployment tasks using SCCM.
- Ensure that all systems are up-to-date and secure by deploying critical updates and security patches in a timely manner.
- Enforce compliance policies for connected devices using SCCM.
- Monitor compliance status and take corrective actions to reduce non-compliance risks.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure SCCM contributes to a secure IT environment.
- Manage detailed inventory collections of software and hardware assets.
- Track software licenses, hardware lifecycles, and resource utilization to optimize resource allocation.
- Provide support to IT staff in troubleshooting and resolving SCCM-related problems.
- Utilize SCCM's reporting features to provide real-time analysis of the network, software deployments, and related metrics.
- Be able to customize SCCM settings to align with organizational requirements and deployment strategies.
- Be able to fine-tune client settings, task sequences, and compliance settings to enhance SCCM's effectiveness.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to other IT staff members.
- Follow best practices in the use of the SCCM platform.
- Stay informed about Microsoft's SCCM updates and enhancements.
- Implement and communicate necessary changes and updates to the SCCM platform to ensure optimal performance.
Basic Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship and must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years' experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 4 years relevant experience
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Manager Administrator are a plus
- Extensive experience (3 years) as an SCCM Administrator
- In-depth knowledge of SCCM and its features, including centralized management, compliance enforcement, and software deployment
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve SCCM-related issues
- Familiarity with federal government compliance standards and security best practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
