Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a senior Enterprise Architect (EA) for a large Defense Agency contract.  This contract employs IT applications development, integration, sustainment, and infrastructure professionals in CONUS locations to continue services necessary to maintain, operate, integrate, and decommission legacy personnel security, assurance systems and applications, integrating their functionality into the National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) system which is subsuming these legacy systems.  This effort supports the Peraton NBIS development program which supports some 12,000 users performing a critical national security mission. 

 

The EA will serve as the enterprise architect lead for all aspects of work performed such as:

  • Provide support in mission applications planning and strategy by focusing on functional applications capabilities and maturity
  • Understand customer needs, services and core missions and match them with best-in-class technology to help define a to be target state
  • Help define prioritization and sequencing of the applications migration and integration
  • Lead key discussions around program changes from both business and technical perspectives.
  • Develop conceptual, logical and physical architecture and technical roadmaps defining the time-phased schedule for the path of transition or transformation of systems and services from the baselined current state to the future state
  • Support and advise on all technical activities across the contract, mentor technical staff, and work with senior technical leaders on driving continuous improvement and innovation into overall program operations
  • Work with Government leadership and industry partners to help identify and drive innovative solutions resulting in overall improved performance and cost reductions

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related STEM degree program, or equivalent Expert-level work experience as an Enterprise Architect.
  • Advanced Amazon Web Services (AWS) professional with at least five years experience ranging from hands-on practical knowledge of the range of AWS cloud tools and services, to cloud implementations and the management of teams of AWS professionals.
  • 12 years of experience providing and communicating high-level architectural expertise to senior-level managers and technical staff while developing architectural products and deliverables for the enterprise and operational business lines.
  • Experience developing system strategies and the design infrastructure necessary to support that strategy.
  • Experience consulting on the selection of technology alternatives with regards to processing, data storage, data access, and applications development, and setting standards for the client/server relational database structure.
  • Expert working experience in government or industry in relevant work areas including: Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Data Architecture, Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
  • Experiences with Engineering Review Board and Architecture Review Board
  • Demonstrated experience with leadership, orchestration, communication, engagement, and critical thinking skills.
  • Certified AWS Associate Architect or above

Desired Qualifications:

  • DCSA IT System Knowledge
  • Domain knowledge of Personnel Background Investigations
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering, processes, tools and languages
  • Possesses Federated Enterprise Architect Certifications: Certified Enterprise Architect
  • Experience architecting solutions using Cloud Based Technology such as: Service Orientated Architecture (SOA), On-demand self-service, Broad network access, Resource pooling, Rapid elasticity, Measured Service, Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
  • Possess a minimum of five years of experience with Federal data privacy, risk management, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to write and verbally communicate detailed technical information and risk-related concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical senior leaders and audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills
  • ITIL v3/v4 Foundation Certification

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
