Purpose:

The Bell Attendant is responsible for greeting and welcoming our guests to the hotel with a gracious welcome and warm smile, assisting with their luggage, packages, and transportation, and pleasantly escorting them to their room as needed. This position will work closely with Front Desk and Housekeeping, ensuring the highest standards of service and the best possible experience for all guests. This position is ultimately responsible for coordinating and providing consistent excellent service to guests before arrival, upon arrival, and during their stay, from check-in to checkout.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Greet and escort guests to rooms. Open doors and assist guests/visitors entering and leaving property.
  • Always informs guests of the Hotel services and effectively communicates and explains room features to guests (e.g., use of room key, mini-bar, ice and vending areas, in-room safe, valet laundry services).
  • Always handles and transports guest luggage in a cautious, conscientious manner to avoid damage to luggage or contents.
  • Transport guest luggage to and from guest rooms and/or designated bell area.
  • Assist with luggage storage and retrieval.
  • Assist guests/visitors in and out of vehicles, including assisting guests with loading/unloading luggage.
  • Supply guests with directions.
  • Communicate parking procedures to guests/visitors. When needed, arrange transportation (e.g., taxi cab, shuttle bus) for guests/visitors, and record advance transportation request as needed.
  • Effectively answers any questions guests may have and resolve problems in a timely manner ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all established procedures for securing Guest luggage and items of value.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent; at least one (1) year of experience required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, holidays and evening hours. Prior experience as a Bell Person preferred.
