Position: Product Manager, Service Products, OneSource Laboratory Services
Purpose
As a Service Product Manager, you will work closely with PerkinElmer’s Instrument and Service Business teams, responsible for the strategy, pricing, positioning, and product line maintenance for all service products within the PerkinElmer service business; managing their product lifecycles, from new service introductions (NSI’s) through end-of-service life (EOSL).
The primary focus of this role is to help drive the overall strategy of the PerkinElmer Service Products to increase service sales, adoption, and margins.
Key Responsibilities
- Create service product roadmap and vision for services included in the Instrument Services Portfolio
- Develop subject matter expertise in order to identify, prioritize and support growth
- Collaborate with field teams to capture voice of customer; understand market and competitive dynamics
- Responsible for developing service pricing strategy with regional and business support
- Preparation of business cases to include market assessment, forecast revenue, development strategy, target ROI, etc.
- Explore new service revenue streams, capturing unmet market needs and identifying new opportunities for service products including, but not limited to, upgrades, training, qualification product lifecycle and education services.
- Partner internally with all areas of development including field service, sales, operations, customer care and marcom to ensure successful service product launch
- Develop quantifiable strategies for profitable growth utilizing potential outcome solutions for customers
- Develop portfolio positioning and field/customer communication strategy working with Marketing
- Mine install-base of current customers to construct strategies to optimize recurring service revenue and expanded margins
- Understand the competitive landscape and create requirements based on VOC
- Ensure product deliverables and milestones are met
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering or science
- 2 plus years’ experience in a product management role
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA preferred
- Experience in a laboratory environment or in B2B services
- Excellent project management skills and strong attention to detail.
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams to achieve desired work products – ability to plan and anticipate challenges, manage resources, bring teams together and maintain timelines
- Motivated individual who is able to operate and maintain focus in a rapidly changing internal environment
- Must have the acumen to learn technical service concepts
- Must have excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, working knowledge of SAP preferred
