SUMMARY:
Responsible for facilitating internal and external communication between clients, 
field technicians, project coordinators, and other staff project managers. Uses intermediate to complex professional and technical knowledge to communicate capabilities, project milestones, updates, delays, and deliverables.


Training for this position will be onsite at the Dulles, VA, or Downers Grove, IL, Aerobiology labs, then transition to a remote/hybrid schedule. 


 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 This class specification lists the major duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive. Incumbent(s) may be expected to perform job-related duties other than those contained in this document and may require specific job-related knowledge and skills.
 1.    Serves as clients' primary point of contact regarding project updates, issues, deliverables, and scope changes.
 2.    Leads client meetings in person or via teleconference, as needed
.
 3.    Collaborates and communicates with laboratory staff on project status.
 4. Problem-solves alternatives to project issues, delays, etc., that could impact either the quality or turn-around-time of the results and communicates alternatives, when feasible, positively and professionally with the customer.
 5.    Collaborates with Department Leads to determine testing capabilities for incoming projects and quote changes based on project scope.
 
6.    Supports Sample Management for large-scope projects/complex projects by reviewing project needs, incoming sample issues, and compliance with regulations.
 
7.    Generates client and department reports in a timely and efficient manner.
 
8.    Reviews dashboards/open projects to keep projects moving and meet the client's deadline.
 
9.    Provides intermediate to complex analysis and interpretation of data results to clients.

0.    Assists with developing or participating in project management or cross-functional project or program objectives, which includes proposed budgets, timelines, materials, personnel, and other project requirements, receives direction, and presents information to management.

1.    Interprets and applies department policies and procedures and assists with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; receives guidance within these areas as needed.

2.    Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.

3.    Promotes and supports the overall mission of Pace Analytical by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with customers and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
 
 QUALIFICATIONS:
 To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below represent the required knowledge, skill, and/or ability.
 
Education and Experience:

 Bachelor's degree in meteorology, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related field; AND at least five (5) years of experience, including experience with specialized or technical programs or operations; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
 
Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

 Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.

 •    General understanding of the administration and oversight of project management programs, policies, and procedures.
 •    Intermediate complex methods to resolve project management problems, questions, and concerns.
 •    Comprehensive understanding of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
 •    General knowledge of testing capabilities.
 •    Computer applications and systems related to the work.
 •    Principles and practices to serving as an effective project team member.
 •    Methods to communicate with staff, coworkers, and customers to ensure safe, effective, and appropriate operations.
 •    Correct business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
 
 Required Skills:

 •    Overseeing and administering general project management functions.
 •    Training others in policies and procedures related to the work.
 •    Serving as a team member and the development and management of projects.
 •    Operating in both a team and individual contributor environment.
 •    Interpreting, applying, and explaining applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
 •    Preparing intermediate to complex functional reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
 •    Using initiative and independent judgment within established department guidelines.
 •    Using tact, discretion, and prudence in working with those contacted in the course of the work.
 •    Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities.
 •    Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of individuals contacted in the course of the work.
 
 PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

 Mobility to work 
remotely and office setting, use standard office and lab equipment and stamina to sit for extended periods; exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects; vision to read printed materials and computer screens; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
 
 WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed 
primarily in an office setting but requires occasional travel to field monitoring sites and client facilities.

This role is Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. From time to time, this role will require coming in early, staying late, and occasional weekend work as needed.
