The salary range for this role, based in New York is $124,300 to $186,500, range will vary if location is outside of this location. Position Summary: The Senior Brand Manager will be responsible for leading strategic brand plan development & implementation and innovation commercialization for Chivas. He/she will exhibit a general manager mindset and will be responsible for initiatives that build brand equity and deliver brand performance and long-term profitable growth. This exciting role requires a dynamic and experienced Senior Brand Manager who has a strong marketing, analytical and commercial background, is consumer-centric, and can balance strategy with execution to deliver results. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Lead strategic brand activation planning: Support development of 3-5 year strategic plan. Own and deliver the annual strategic brand activation goals. Lead annual planning & Inter-Agency Team (IAT) process: Partner with brand team cross-functional and external partners on developing the brand’s annual plans to include programs, channel activation, sales and field priorities. Brief IAT for campaign and to execute annual operating plan. Develop & execute brand programs: Lead the development of breakthrough consumer-centric retail and experiential brand programs that activate the brand and drive consideration and new household penetration. Manage brand commercial priorities: Partner with cross-functional partners to develop and execute optimal merchandising and shelf placement guidance, channel strategy including tests and exclusives, and supporting selling stories. Lead commercialization of innovation: Collaborate with Innovation and Commercial Teams to commercialize innovation consistent with strategy and insights plan. Deliver Strategic Brand Review: Assist with the development of the Strategic Brand Review by analyzing category opportunities, identifying key consumer insights, innovation opportunities, and activation strategies. Manage business analysis/reporting: Lead brand business review on an annual basis for deeper understanding of the learning from prior fiscal year to inform next fiscal year planning. Lead program post-audits to codify timely insights to inform next program execution. Collaborate on the media plan and Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) in the planning and measurement of brand program for continuous improvement of marketing and brand spend to deliver ROI and meet brand and portfolio KPIs. Lead the analysis and reporting of market and competitor trends to identify salient business issues/opportunities, working with divisional sales/marketing teams as necessary. Manage Brand Pricing Initiatives: Partner with Finance Team to evaluate pricing strategy, competitive context, and recommend adjustments to deliver improved brand performance, margin, contribution. Develop People: Manage direct report(s) and train and develop team members into strong brand managers. Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities: Act as day-to-day general manager; Manage IAT process, develop and execute programs; Manage pricing Manage commercial priorities; Analyze and track programs, initiatives, activity; Manage Business Review and continuous business reporting to uncover insights that will drive optimization and new growth Work with Innovation Hub on commercialize brand innovation Ensure cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness of brand programs, in coordination with Director of Multicultural & Inclusivity Job Requirements: The role requires a leader with a strong commercial background, demonstrated analytical, organizational, and communication skills as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and with external partners. Strong entrepreneurial ability to work around obstacles, results driven, and a bias for action with a pilot/learn/scale approach. The ideal candidate will have the ability to marry strategy with tactics to translate brand strategy into actionable plans that drive consumer interest, retailer engagement, field support/execution and. Skills: Ability to lead and influence teams. Results-oriented and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders to collaborate, align, and influence the agenda. Demonstrated ability to lead a cross functional and agency working team, which includes but is not limited to the global brand owners, agencies, field marketing, sales, consumer insights, Marketing Accelerator, Finance, and other business departments, consultants, and external partners. Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent); MBA or advanced degree preferable Experience / Background: 5 years of business experience, with experience in a manager role in CPG. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing activation programs and commercial agendas for large and culturally iconic brands with large A&P spends. Must have demonstrated experience developing brand strategies grounded in insights and analytics that deliver results. Must have experience in managing and partnering with a broad set of stakeholders in matrix organization as well as external agency partners. Must have experience managing financials and business performance including budget management. Ideal candidate will have previous experience in an organization with a large field sales organization.
