As a member of the Finance Team, this position maintains customer accounts receivable daily activities while delighting our internal and external customers.
Also responsible to analyze and monitor customer credit and determine appropriate credit actions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delight our internal and external customers
- Reconciliation, maintenance and accountability of assigned customer accounts
- Contact customers via phone or email for timely collection of past due balances
- Investigate deductions to find the cause and then take corrective action to resolve or remedy
- Process EDI exports daily and work to resolve EDI error messages with the IT Dept.
- Respond to Proof of Delivery requests
- Timely set up of new accounts for assigned customer base
- Determine appropriate credit actions for delinquent accounts and execute them to mitigate business risk
- Regular submission of Invoice files for customers to be processed for payment
- Maintain account status and credit action notes on daily aging
- Application of chain customer payments in an excel-based program
- Process and distribute weekly and monthly customer statements
- Process customer credit card payments as needed
- Assist in the month end statement process
- Provide back-up to the Credit Team when needed
- Other Finance Department duties as necessary
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree and at least 2 full years professional work experience or 5 years professional experience in accounting or customer service role. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient in MS Excel & Word – knowledge of VLookups and Pivot Tables
- Strong customer service skills; proactively anticipates needs, gathers information, and offers assistance/recommends solutions whenever a need arises; responsive to customer requests
- Demonstrated initiative to complete work assignments in a timely and complete manner and take ownership of your actions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable communicating directly with account contacts.
