Job Overview
The IT Director will oversee all IT-related staff and activities and the infrastructure of technical operations in order to achieve business goals, minimize security risk, increase user satisfaction and maintain operations and systems. This individual will analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by organization leadership. This is a full-time, salaried, remote position with excellent benefits.
Responsibilities
- Oversees IT operations
- Analyzes business requirements for IT needs and systems
- Designs and implements IT strategies and infrastructure
- Identifies and eliminates security risks
- Evaluates IT operations with regard to established goals
- Leads team of IT staff
- Communicates within IT team and across departments as needed
- Works to increase user satisfaction
- Assesses need for new equipment and software
- Prepares progress and budget reports for leadership
- Builds and maintains relationships with outside vendors
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Document critical Standard Operating Procedures and Workflows
- Support succession planning by cross training staff
- Complete corporate training on a timely basis
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Proven experience as IT director or similar role, preferably in an educational nonprofit
- Deep understanding of desktop support, IT operations, and software systems deployed in the cloud
- Compliance experience either in HIPAA, CJIS, NIST, PCI, or other demonstrated experience protecting the privacy of peoples information in an auditable/structured approach
- Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication abilities
BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
