What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician II position at PetAg, Inc.?
SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for trouble shooting and repairs of plant and production equipment including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical functions and systems. Assist in Installation of new and used equipment. Perform preventative maintenance activities. Possess basic hand tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure work is always performed safely.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Repair and maintain production equipment as well as building issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance functions.
- Move and install equipment that may require electrical, gas, and compressed air services.
- Perform some electrical repairs including AC & DC motor controls, solid state motor controls, advance circuits and grounding diagrams, test equipment within skill range.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- The skill and ability to use common hand tools, power tools.
- Use a stick and Tig welder.
- Ability to read and understand schematics, drawings, and manuals and schematics.
- Provide support to Process Improvement projects and participate on safety teams.
- Operate forklifts and ski lifts.
- Able to climb ladders and work at high elevations.
- All other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High school education.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in food manufacturing is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of GMP’s and HACCP’s.
- Specialized knowledge or training: Ability to work effectively with production, warehouse, and office personnel. Basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
