We are seeking a Master Production Scheduler to be responsible for the planning, coordinating, and optimizing of scheduling activities for all manufacturing locations to satisfy customer demand. This position will work with various departments to optimize production schedules based on sales orders, forecasts, and plant capacity. The qualified individual will be required to coordinate and release packaging to all facilities in support of the production schedule.
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management preferred or equivalent experience
- APICS Certification preferred.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, supply chain management or related field.
- Proficient with production planning systems such as MRP/ERP (EPICOR Preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to quality work and continuous improvement activities
- Able to work in a team environment, and effectively manage associates
- Self directed goal oriented performer
- Excellent computer literacy skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Multi-tasking with attention to detail
- Experienced problem solving methodology (8D or similar)
Job Location / Working Conditions:
Work in an office setting supporting all manufacturing facilities with regular visits to production floor or warehouse. Periodic trips to the remote locations may be required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Scheduling:
- Develop master production schedule based on sales orders and forecasts to meet customer requirements.
- Facilitates weekly Scheduling Meeting with sales, purchasing and manufacturing to optimize and prioritize schedules.
- Participates in capacity planning activities with sales, marketing, and other related departments.
- Monitor inventory levels, improve inventory turns, and minimize missed shipments.
- At times may move or direct others to transport materials from one facility to another to meet production schedules.
- Supervise associates as required and coach and mentor for continuous improvement.
Purchasing:
- Release packaging for all locations based on scheduling requirements.
- Minimize slow moving or obsolete inventories, follow up with sales for potential customer recoveries.
- Works with packaging vendors to ensure on-time delivery of materials to support production schedule.
Other tasks as directed by Director of Purchasing
