A Resource Specialist is someone who has a servant’s heart, has strong relationships within the community, and is knowledgeable about our community resources to assist with appropriate referrals. The position will help individuals who have set goals for themselves, work towards the steps to achieve their goals, ensure goal sustainability, and work to build agency relationships within our community. Our ultimate goal is to help our individuals be productive citizens within their communities. This position will be an instrumental addition to streamlining organizational processes in serving our mission…working together we make life better.

Pettis County Community Partnership is an organization with a mission centering on improving the quality of life for Pettis Countians while acting as a catalyst for community action and to be a clearinghouse for information availability and exchange. We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the lives of those we serve since 1998.

Summary:

The Resource Specialist provides direct services to clients by assisting with finding ways to supplement their income and/or restore income. This assistance may include but not limited to applying for programs such as SNAP (Food Stamps), Medicaid/Medicare, LIHEAP, TANF, emergency assistance, Unemployment, etc. Assistance will also be offered in enrolling and qualifying for job training opportunities offered through various community resources. Must provide services that include the following:

· Intake, assessment, and referral

· Referral follow-up

· Record keeping and reporting

· Community resource coordination

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree and two years of relevant professional experience
  • Any other combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Coordinated Entry experience preferred
  • HMIS experience a bonus

Essential Functions:

  • Advocate for families with helping organizations, landlords and other agencies.
  • Follows confidentiality procedures as required by the Agency and all funding sources.
  • Supports family’s safety, health, financial stability, life goals and aspirations.
  • Identify the level of service needed, access client’s eligibility and make referrals to the Agency’s programs and community resources.
  • Maintain records in accordance with Agency, local, state, and federal regulations, storing all customer files in file cabinets.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation in each client’s file.
  • Submit paperwork in the required timeframe.
  • Follow confidentiality procedures as directed by Agency, government, and department guidelines.
  • Effectively market the Agency, Programs, and services to the community
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship and on-going communication with community resources.

· Must adhere to the Agency’s Personal Policies and Program Code of Ethics and Confidentiality.

· Must demonstrate strong customer service skills when working with customers, volunteers, and community partners.

· Must participate in required training from Executive Director, Programs, and Grantors to maintain compliance.

· Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

· Demonstrate excellent analytical, mediation, and negotiation skills.

· Demonstrate good judgement and ability to work independently and be a self-starter.

· Strong ability to effectively perform multiple tasks together, meet deadlines, and documentation requirements.

· Strong ability to resolve conflicts and mentor volunteers.

· Possess a positive and upbeat attitude.

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
