What are the responsibilities and job description for the Starter position at PGA?
Overview
Starter is responsible for managing the 1st & 10th tees. Keeping the tees running on schedule, verifying players listed on the tee sheet correctly correspond with the group playing.
Keeping track of what mode of transportation the group is using (carts, walking and / or push carts). This individual should have an outgoing personality, a strong work ethic, must be able to quickly learn the operation and be able to communicate with all team members.
As a member of the Outside Operations Team, all duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to excellent customer service, meeting and exceeding member and guest needs on a daily basis.
Must be available mornings, weekends and holiday.
Experience Required
- Experience in a private club setting
- Must be well organized and able to function under pressure
- Provide each player / group with the course conditions, cart path rules, tee yardages, and any other pertinent information
- Ensure every group arrives to the 1st & 10th tees on time
- Provide first class service to both members and guests
- Service oriented with high degree of attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Willing to provide continuous and extended hours of service through the golf season
- Quality appearance, good written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. Between 6 - 8 hours
- Adhere to the standards, goals and objectives set forth by the Governors Towne Club
- Coordinating with Golf Shop Staff for daily functions
- Assisting in Tournament Operations
- Marshall the course
- Stock and refill driving range as needed
