Accounting Manager

Job Description:

The Accounting Manager records and verifies financial records in the general ledger. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing AP and AR teams, preparing journal entries and other system transactions, reconciling balance sheet accounts, summarizing, and analyzing activity, and assisting in the preparation of financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

Assign entries to proper accounts.

Analyze general ledger and prepare journal entries as needed.

Prepare various general ledger account reconciliations.

Learn other accounting department duties as needed to perform as back up to primary persons performing function, filling in as needed.

Contribute to budgeting & forecasting process as needed.

Other analysis and projects as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.

Must have strong computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel required. Knowledge of other Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Access and Outlook) preferred.

Must have ability to work within a general ledger, reconcile Balance Sheet accounts in an accurate and timely manner. Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles with the ability to support external audit function as necessary.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary, with an ability to resolve and manage internal customer expectation regarding timeliness and accuracy of required information.

Must be detail oriented, organized and energetic.

MRP/ERP system experience and knowledge is desired.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
